PHARMACY ADVOCACY

Candace Olusola, PharmD, MPH stepped out from behind the counter in August 2021. Although she often spoke up while working as a pharmacist for a leading chain pharmacy about the work conditions and retaliation tactics exacerbating an over decade-long public health crisis across the nation, leaving her career behind did not stop her from continuing to spread her message to the general public.

Since September 2021, she has led an active role with the national pharmacy advocacy movement, #PizzaIsNotWorking, founded by Oklahoma pharmacist Bled Tanoe, PharmD. Together, alongside hundreds of others in the movement, are working towards a safer, fairer structure in the world of pharmacy by:

  • helping to legislate quality work condition and safety measure requirements for all pharmacies across the U.S.

  • collaborating alongside our state pharmacists organizations

  • educating the public about the role of pharmacy

  • recruiting active #PINW public and anonymous members

    and more!

Because the pharmacy worker’s safety is the patient’s safety!
